Description

Les données proviennent des travaux de thèse du Dr ADJOSSOU Kossi. Il a travaillé dans les reliques forestières de la zone forestière du Togo. Ces données sont issues d’un inventaire botanique de 285 relevés dont chaque relevé recouvre 500m². Les résultats indiquent une richesse floristique comparable à celle de certains milieux forestiers considérés comme riche d’Afrique de l’ouest. Au total, 928 espèces vasculaires, réparties en 521 genres, et 115 familles, ont été identifiées. Les résultats permettent de contribuer à la connaissance de la flore togolaise avec 72 nouvelles signalisations d’espèces. L’essentiel des espèces (90 à 92%) ont été récoltées le long des cours d’eau. Les résultats semblent soutenir l’hypothèse selon laquelle, les vallées des montagnes du Togo, traversées par des cours d’eau, auraient servi de refuge à la flore humide pendant l’ère glaciaire et auraient constitué les communautés de recolonisation des forêts. Les résultats indiquent par ailleurs que la flore humide du Togo, sous pression humaine est très fragile puisque 57 % des espèces peuvent être considérées comme rares. Une ébauche de liste rouge nationale qui peut être vue comme un outil de gestion a été élaborée.
